Fingerless mitten and Button Challenge

We took the kids and headed out to Pioneers Park after dinner last night. It was a gorgeous evening and there were threats of snow in the forecast for today. Kiley and the kids played ball for awhile. Then we headed over to the pond. We had no plans of visiting these geese, so we did not come prepared with bread to feed them. So I got in my handy dandy currently junked out trunk and found.....some whole corn. I had just picked up a bag for some corn bag orders that same day. The geese liked it if they could catch it. I liked it because no one was arguing or fighting. Lets face it my kids fight and argue alot. :) So we all came together and feed the geese.

This is my almost finished fingerless mitten. I need to finish up the thumb hole and weave in the ends. I told the girls at The Yarn Shop that I was so excited I might have to sport it by itself, Michael Jackson style...at least until the other one was done. It took me about a week. I am quite proud of it. :)
I am signed up to participate in Lisa's Big Button challenge. You can click on the new box in my sidebar to read all the details. I got lucky and was one of the 1st 5 to sign up. This is the button that she sent me. Isnt it great? Now I need to create something fun and exciting to submit by May 1st. I will blog about it more, but mark your calendars because you can take part in the judging!
I'm off to make breakfast for the kiddos. That usually consists of waffles and juice. Korby is taking a big basic skills test today. Her teacher told her she needs a good healthy breakfast. I hate cooking, but scrambled eggs and toast is one of my specialties. :)
