I have kicked myself in the pants alot since then. I did read all of the books and bought the CD. They are great. But no musical.
Kiley surprised me last week with tickets to go see Wicked in Omaha at the end of May. I think I almost wet myself! I cant believe it....I get to go and see Wicked! This is way to exciting. :)

My sister surprised us and took the kids for an overnight adventure. Thanks Shanae!! :0)
We enjoyed the beautiful weather outside today and roamed around Lincoln's Haymarket area. We went to some local shops, looked at books, took pictures, and ate ice cream. It was so nice to be "kid free"!
I mentioned in previous posts that I read all the Twilight books. I was anxious to go and pick up the movie today at Target. Kiley and I watched it tonight. He was cracking up the entire time. I kept saying "This is not how it happened in the book!" I have to admit, I'm disappointed in the movie. Those books were damn good, especially the first one!
You should have heard my husband. "Where do you file a complaint to get my time back" and "I cant believe all the hours you spent reading those books, this was bad." He ofcourse was being silly and nice about it. But all I could think was how childish the movie seemed!
So I say "Save your $$$ people, don't buy the movie, just read the book.

your kid free time sounds great. :) and congrats on getting to go see Wicked! im slightly jealous...usually with our tax refund we buy tickets to something, but our money this year went towards bills, home improvements, and other odd and ends---you know the drill.
ReplyDeletei bought Twilight (technically jay bought it for me and then hid it in the kitchen and made me hunt for it but thats another story)... i had seen it in the theatre so i knew what to expect. and it is sorta childish, but it's mindless entertainment that i can get into. i can see myself watching it when jay goes out of town or with my mom. but i agree, the books are better, especially the first one.
and by the way, your hubby's reaction to the movie was almost exactly the same as mine---almost word for word! i have a feeling they'd be fast friends. ha ha
oh and one more thing: do you think you'll see New Moon when it comes to theatres? i think it comes out at the end of the year. im not expecting it to be good at all but i do sorta want to see it. maybe in the dollar theatre.:)
ReplyDeleteYour welcome for having the kids over night!! they love there Aunt naenae!!
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet guy you have to surprise you like that. sorry, i have no opinion on twilight b/c i'm the only person in the world that didn't read the series.
ReplyDeleteps - i love your hair!
Tammie: tax $$ is the ONLY reason we can go see wicked. Im glad you are fixing up the house. :) We dont have a dollar theatre here anymore...otherwise I would go! I will wait til New Moon comes out on video. That is too funny our guys reacted the same!
ReplyDeleteShanae: Thanks again!
Melissa: The books are great! Thanks for the compliment on my hair! :)
Ooh I am going to see Wicked in April with my mom, aunt, sister niece and cousin. I can't wait. Ok slightly embarrassed but I liked the movie. It was sooooo cheesy and bad ... and I liked it. There I said it. haha. I bought it on Blue Ray and am going to have a viewing with the girls in my fam that liked it and I'm going to make red velvet cake and some sort of red martini. But my husband won't even be allowed at home because he would haaaaaate the movie.... I'll send him to hang out with your husband lol!
ReplyDeleteDena: I cant believe he watched the entire movie! He usually falls asleep if they suck! This one made him laugh too hard to sleep. Your party sounds like a blast!!
