It Makes Me Smile

Before I start blogging I wanted to give you the link to The 2010 KraftyKash Yarn Swap
I hope you get to join us. It will be alot of fun!

One of my favorite blogs to read is Irregular Tammie . Tammie is a tell it like it is, kind of girl. She started a new blog idea and I decided to give it a try. She is calling the new segment "It Makes me Smile"

Years and years ago I went to one of my 1st ever home parties. At the time I was so excited to feel like part of the group with a certain bunch of Moms. I had never been to a home party and didn't really know what to expect. Anyway, I didn't know what the hell I was supposed to order. I didn't really know what I was doing as I sat there flipping through the catalog over and over.

Then I discovered this cute house. Korby (our youngest) was a baby at the time. I didn't really understand the full meaning of the shoveling snow and cleaning house. I thought it was cute that it had 4 family members, just like us and that our name could be painted on the door.

So I'm walking around my house tonight complaining about the mess that no one has bothered to pick up, including me. Going over all the things I need to take care of tomorrow and wondering what in the hell is making me smile today.
I glance up and see this wall hanging. Ding Ding Ding....I have a winner. Just like that I have a smile about it too. Yes, my house is a mess. Yes I'm sick of doing dishes and laundry. Yes my kids loves to fight and torment each other.

But I have a beautiful family that loves me and I love them. After all these years of that little house hanging on the wall, I should know that cleaning your house while your children are growing is like shoveling snow while its still snowing.

  1. Absolutely love this blog post. So true and so easy to become "Momzilla" over having a spic and span house but it isn't what is important. So I look at the half put away Christmas stuff and its okay. My life is just fine.
