Just Call Me the Zipper Lady

Sorry to have stepped out on the blogging for more than a week.
I will get you up to date on whats happening around here.

Kiley (my husband) hurt his back at work over a week ago. Its been an adjustment for our family. He is seeing a Chiropractor.
Their office is on the opposite end of town.
I took him to his 1st few appointments and discovered the BEST little fabric store ever!

The Cosmic Cow is a magical little store full of fabulous fabric.
I picked up a few things and found a fun magazine.
Let me just start by saying I'm not a quilter.

Quilts and More magazine by Better Homes and Gardens has some great projects and is very affordable.

There website has a lot of fun projects & ideas. allpeoplequilt.com is definitely worth checking out!

This is my version of their cute zipper bag.
Ive NEVER sewn in a zipper before.
Sewing zippers makes me quite nervous.
In fact, I have several bags Ive sewn that are all open at the top.

They recommended using a fabric that had a lining on the inside.
I just used this 100% cotton.
The bag is a little flimsy, but I don't even care.

I love it!
Its mine and it has its very own zipper, sewn in by......me. :) Next project for me will be matching pillow cases for our room.

I will be using this pattern from allpeoplequilt.com
