I put up the tree today. I stood in front of that window to put that tree together and almost sweated to death (is sweated a word???) It was warm out today here in Lincoln NE. I think the high was around 58 degrees. Tomorrow is when the cold weather is supposed to kick in. Luckily my BFF, Stephanie, and I stood in line at 4:30am in the morning on Black Friday at Target and I got a new puffy black vest to keep me warm. It was alot of fun. We were laughing so hard that the line was wrapped around the entire building. People probably thought we were somewhat strange, but who cares...we were all standing in that line! :)

Kiley & I had our 1st Christmas at least 16 yrs ago. He was a bachelor and had no decorations. I was a telemarketer and had limited $$$. So I headed out to the Dollar store to buy some decorations. See that tall skinny Santa and the Christmas tree? That is what I bought with my money. To this day, I put them up every year. My poor kids, have to hear the story every yr about how Mommy moved in with Daddy and surprised him and bought decorations for Christmas. We have since added to our collection, but will ALWAYS add these in the mix.

This is my favorite part about Christmas. Every yr since Kalen was 2, I have saved different Christmas projects that they have made and hung them on this wall as we walk up the stairs. I always reminisce about when they made it and how much they have grown up. Lucky for them, they are at school and don't have to hear me babble on and on about how cute it is, and how cute they were at that age. Kids grow way to fast, I don't have to tell you that. Its also nice to have something covering all the fingerprints on this wall as they walk upstairs and drag their hands along the wall. :D

December is here! Enjoy it. Before we know it, it will be 2010. What holiday traditions do you have in place for your family?
