Tutorial: How to Make a Halloween Tombstone

I think a yard on Halloween without tombstones just isn't right.

So, being the frugal Mama that I am, we decided to make out own.

We used 2 big pieces of Styrofoam that came inside a box.

Kalen spray painted them gray for me.

At this point he was DONE helping with my project.

The boy is 15. I couldn't expect much more, right?

We let them dry for a bit outside.
Then we took black craft paint with sponge brushes & painted on a design.

We did this all outside, the weather has been BEAUTIFUL here.

Kiley is a real trooper.

He always plays along with my projects.

Ima Goner (get it...I'm a goner)

I thought that was very clever.

I'm sure you could google all sorts of great sayings to put on a tombstone.
We used a wire bracket from a yard sign to hold them in the ground side by side.

And lastly, covered them in cobwebs.
Tada!

Our very own tombstones.

This entire project took less than an hour.

I think they turned out great!
If you were feeling festive you could do a similar project for Christmas.

Make them look like presents.
